At The Tilted Barn, we love to entertain…especially when food is involved. For your entertaining pleasure, we have made these beautiful charcuterie boards, all from reclaimed house boards from the Elsasser Brothers Property.

Use them yourself or gift them to your hosts (we promise…they’ll be thrilled!). These boards come fully cured and sealed for your food protection. Simply wipe with a warm cloth and dry completely. We have left the beautiful hand-hewn markings and each one is a one-of-a-kind. Each one measures 14″ x 11.5″ x 1″ with a 3″ handle.

As these are all unique and handmade, each board may differ slightly. Not intended to be used as a cutting board.

If these boards could talk, they would tell tales from the late 1800's. We reclaimed wood from one of the first homes here in North Idaho. Two brothers moved up to Sandpoint, ID from Texas to start an apple orchard in 1893. We uncovered these beautiful planks that were covered by modern walls somewhere back in the 40's. So, we are guessing these are at least 125 years old!

By chance, we were able to find the great-great granddaughter of one of the brothers who started the Elasser Apple Orchard so many years ago. Read all about this restore on our blog post: Elasser Apple Orchard.

The cedar boards were carefully removed from the walls of the Elsasser Homestead house that was built in the late 1890's (read all about Treasure Hunting for more on this story).
